KOR’s Commitment to Operator Training

KOR Services

Operating specialised industrial equipment requires certified competency. KOR Academy, in partnership with Trainright (RTO 45777), delivers Nationally Accredited Competency Training tailored to operators of hydro excavation, vacuum loading, and drain cleaning systems as well using and operating high-pressure water jetting equipment.

These courses are designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. From first-time operators to the more experienced professionals, our training programs support a safer workforce, reduce operational risks, and help businesses meet their regulatory obligations in the industrial sector.

Nationally Accredited Competency Training

Operating specialised industrial equipment such as Cappellotto hydro excavation, vacuum and drain cleaning trucks that are built for performance and precision, or Falch high pressure water jetting systems, requires a skill set.

Operators need to be equipped with the knowledge, skills and competency to do their job safely and without the risk of injury to themselves or others nearby or potentially damaging equipment and company assets.

That is why KOR has Nationally Accredited Competency Training courses for operators. Training is offered through Trainright (RTO 45777) and is delivered by KOR Academy’s experienced equipment specialists under arrangement. All the content delivered by KOR Academy has been designed and delivered by ‘Trainright’, our training partner. Trainright is a registered training organisation (RTO Code 45777).

Contractors can select which of the courses content is relevant to their industry and the various applications that their operators work in. Training consists of online training followed by onsite practical assessments at business premises, with a maximum of 10 operators per course.

Learn why KOR Academy’s Nationally Accredited Training Courses are a critical factor in keeping your people safe, your operations compliant, and your assets working at full value.

What are the Benefits to Contractors?

There are many compelling reasons why contractors should have their operators complete a KOR Nationally Accredited Training course. These include:

  • Compliant with regulatory requirements as these courses are nationally recognised and align with required standards, contractors remain with industry/regulatory requirements, so this reduces legal or safety risks
  • Real-world, job-relevant skills as the training is tailored to actual applications tasks and equipment use rather than just theory.
  • Improved safety and reduced risk as operators are trained correctly on real equipment with the most recent safety practices, there is less likelihood of accidents, near misses or equipment misuse – important in high-risk sectors.
  • Operator efficiency through less downtime and fewer mistakes as skilled, competent operators mean tasks are done correctly and efficiently, therefore reducing mistakes, rework or equipment breakdowns.
  • Flexibility and less disruption to work by having online components and practical assessments onsite downtime and disruption is reduced
  • Professionalism and employee value as Contractors, formally training operators can contribute to a professional culture and safer workplace while employees feel more confident, competent and professional by doing accredited training.
  • Competency documentation means you are audit-ready once the training is completed

Operator Refresher Course

KOR also offers refresher training on high pressure water jetting operations, to ensure operators remain confident with the equipment they are using, and that it is being used correctly, efficiently and safely. If key checks are skipped in busy times, and the risk of incidents, equipment damage, and lost productivity increases.

In accordance with AS4233.1: 2013 HPWJ Part 1: Safe operation and maintenance, operators are required to participate in high pressure water jetting refresher training at a minimum of every two years for a Statement of Attainment that is evidence that their credentials are up-to-date.

KOR sends out ongoing reminders to businesses when their operators are due for high pressure water jetting operations refresher training so that there is consistent and regular training.

Why Nationally Accredited Competency Training Matters?

For any workplaces using heavy machinery, high pressure water jetting, excavation, vacuum loading or similar, having operators trained through nationally accredited competency training courses reduces liability, improves safety and ensures compliance. It protects people, the company’s reputation, reduces operational risk and can lead to work from clients who require formally trained operators.
