IFAT Germany continues to shape the future of the global water, sewage, waste, and industrial services sectors.
In early May, KOR executives attended the international trade fair, creating an opportunity to engage directly with global OEM partners and review the latest developments across environmental technology, industrial equipment, and specialist vehicle solutions.
For KOR, our attendance reinforced the importance of strong manufacturer relationships, direct customer engagement, and ongoing access to the technologies influencing critical operations across Australia and New Zealand.
Why industry leaders gathered at IFAT Germany
Held over four days, IFAT attracted exhibitors, suppliers, manufacturers, and industry professionals from around the world. The event spanned 18 indoor halls, along with extensive outdoor display areas dedicated to large-scale machinery and equipment demonstrations.
The exhibition focused on the technologies and industry discussions that are shaping the future of environmental and industrial services, including:
- environmental technology and sustainability
- industrial equipment demonstrations
- wastewater and infrastructure management
- supplier and buyer collaboration
- expert presentations on emerging industry challenges and developments
For businesses operating in hydro excavation, drain and sewer cleaning, municipal services, industrial vacuum operations, and infrastructure maintenance, IFAT provided valuable insight into the equipment, technologies, and operational trends influencing the global market.
How KOR customers connected with leading OEM partners
We organised for a group of valued customers to attend IFAT and visit the Cappellotto stand, alongside other key OEM partners including Scania, Volvo, KEG, Duebre, Gerotto, and TST.
In industries where equipment reliability, servicing capability, safety, and uptime directly affect business performance, direct engagement with manufacturers provides a stronger understanding of both equipment capability and long-term support.
Customers had the opportunity to speak directly with manufacturer representatives, review new equipment developments, discuss operational challenges, and gain insight into broader industry changes affecting the sector.
The visit also reinforced the depth of our OEM relationships. These partnerships extend well beyond equipment supply, supporting product knowledge, technical understanding, servicing capability, and ongoing customer support across Australia and New Zealand.

Inside the Cappellotto manufacturing facilities
In the lead-up to IFAT, we coordinated factory tours of our original equipment manufacturers (OEM)Â Cappellotto, Gerotto, Scania and OMSI manufacturing operations, providing customers with visibility into the manufacturing environments behind the equipment they operate and maintain.
The Cappellotto tour was comprehensive. Customers visited the tank and finishing operations at Fontanafredda, the special vehicles final assembly plant at Gaiarine, and the production facility at Villafranca di Verona.
The experience provided practical insight into the engineering, assembly, and manufacturing processes supporting Cappellotto equipment. Rather than relying on product specifications or sales material, customers were able to observe production environments firsthand, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of the manufacturing standards behind the equipment.
Cappellotto senior executives remained involved throughout the tour, creating direct engagement between the manufacturer, KOR, and Australian and New Zealand customers. For organisations making significant fleet and infrastructure investment decisions, that level of transparency and access is highly valuable.

Why IFAT matters for industry innovation
International events such as IFAT are important because they provide direct exposure to the technologies and operational developments shaping the future of the industry.
For our customers, the discussions and equipment showcased throughout the exhibition aligned with the operational priorities many businesses are already navigating, including productivity, equipment capability, safety, sustainability, servicing requirements, and long-term fleet performance.
The strongest themes across IFAT reflected our core market sectors, including:
- hydro excavation
- vacuum systems
- drain and sewer cleaning
- industrial cleaning
- environmental technology
- operational efficiency
- sustainability and water management
As operational demands continue to evolve, businesses require equipment suppliers who remain closely connected to global manufacturers and emerging technologies. Maintaining those relationships helps ensure customers have ongoing access to the latest equipment developments, technical knowledge, and manufacturer support.
KOR recognised by Cappellotto
A major highlight of the visit was the Cappellotto distributor dinner, where KOR received two awards recognising the strength and longevity of the partnership.
- The first award recognised KOR for achieving the highest sales result in any market globally. This marks the fifth consecutive year KOR has received the recognition.
- The second award celebrated 15 years of KOR distributing Cappellotto equipment throughout Australia and New Zealand, becoming the first Cappellotto distributor globally to achieve the longevity milestone.
The awards were presented by Alberto Cappellotto (Owner), Edoardo Marcon (CEO), and Alessandro Borsetti (Sales Director), with more than 150 Cappellotto staff and distributors in attendance.
For KOR customers, the recognition reinforces the stability and strength of the long-standing relationship between us and Cappellotto. It also reflects the level of trust established between the manufacturer and ourselves across Australia and New Zealand.
